Citizens of other countries can check http://www.un.int/bahamas/tourist%20visa%20info.htm or contact their nearest Bahamian consulate for visa and additional documentation requirements. Note that no visa is needed for a number of countries.

Machine Readable Passports: Non-U.S. citizens whose travel itinerary has stopovers in the U.S. should verify that their passport and visa satisfies whatever U.S. rules may be in effect at the time of travel. For example, after October 2004, citizens from those countries who can presently enter the U.S. without a visa may be required to present a Machine Readable Passport (see, http://www.state.gov/r/pa/prs/ps/2003/24407.htm ).
Authors or co-authors needing an official invitation letter (e.g., in order to obtain a visa) can contact the Conference Program Committee Chair, Prof. Weibo Gong (gong@ecs.umass.edu). He can provide an invitation letter - on behalf of the 43rd IEEE CDC (December 14-17, 2004 at the Atlantis, Paradise Island, Bahamas) - for travel to the Bahamas.
Invitation letters will only be sent to authors or co-authors of papers that have been accepted for inclusion in the Technical Program of the CDC.

All major credit cards and travelers checks are accepted almost everywhere.
Bahamian banks are interconnected with major U.S. systems that accept ATM cards and major credit cards that provide cash advances.
ATMs are plentiful. However, before you use an ATM, check to see which currency (U.S. or Bahamian) the machine dispenses, since you could otherwise end up with more Bahamian dollars than you need.

This information will be compiled into separate lists for male/female respondents and distributed by email. You will be responsible for contacting and screening prospective roommates from that list and making your own hotel reservations and arrangements.
Please note that this service is a resource to merely locate potential roommates, not to match specific individuals together. In so doing, neither the organizers nor WiC will be held responsible for any situations that arise as a result of room sharing between particular parties. In addition, this service will end after November 12, 2004. Therefore, given also the limited availability of reduced rate rooms at the Conference hotel, interested individuals should send in their above information as early as possible.
The Organizing Committee of the 43rd CDC would like to thank WiC and Prof. May-Win Thein of the University of New Hampshire for organizing this Roommate Location Service.
The deadline for applications was September 1, 2004.
